General Manager – Mark Smith

Originally from Australia, Mark joined the company in 2011 as Operations Manager before moving on to run the Finance Department. After building knowledge of the company at a high level, he stepped up to lead the business in 2014 in his current role as General Manager.

Mark has successfully managed the company through periods of change and has established robust structures in HR, training and operations. Mark has also worked with the team to develop new revenue streams, enabling the business to diversify into new service lines in an ever-changing marketplace.

Prior to joining Overland Health, Mark’s professional background was in commercial lending, with additional experience drawn from small business development and management. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree and a Diploma in Accounting.

Head of Operations – Taian Stagno

Having notched up five years with the company, Taian leads the management team and is responsible for the day to day running of the business, this includes overseeing our Operations and Business Support departments. Her focus is to ensure the business achieves its' volume, service and quality targets, whilst developing a talented workforce to improve Overland Health’s patient experience and service standards.

With a background in banking, Taian climbed the ladder at Overland Health from a Customer Service Representative to develop an encyclopaedic understanding of our clinical and operational delivery, and was appointed to her current role in July 2016.

She is also directly responsible for our HR and training functions, and plays a key role in recruitment, inductions and managing a strategic annual training plan.

Head of Clinical Services – Joel Booth

Prior to joining Overland Health in 2012, Joel worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in the NHS before specialising in case management and vocational rehabilitation in the private sector. With a broad clinical background and deep knowledge of the personal injury and health sectors, Joel brings a wealth of clinical and commercial experience to the Overland Health senior management team.

Joel is a Clinical Specialist in Work Rehabilitation with a Masters of Science degree in Health Ergonomics and post graduate training in specialist areas such as health behaviour, functional capacity evaluations and job demand analysis.

Joel is responsible for our Clinical Governance framework and business development, working to ensure that Overland Health provide high quality, safe and evidence-based rehabilitation services.

Business Support Manager – Fraser Duncan

After rising through the ranks since joining the company in 2011, Fraser has gained valuable commercial and operational experience following a series of roles across the business.

He now leads Overland Health’s Business Support department,overseeing key functions including; network and supply management; project management; finance ledger; and account management.

A proud Scotsman, he excels at data manipulation and analysis, providing a regular suite of high-level reports to furnish the senior management team with insight and knowledge on business performance.

Business Development Manager – Ann Xuereb

Coming from an insurance background, Ann joined Overland Health in 2012 and has steadily progressed over the last four years from CSR to her current role.

Having worked in various departments she has been involved in a number or projects resulting in a rounded insight into the company processes and procedures as well as allowing her to build relationships with customers and suppliers alike.

Ann’s role is to further develop the relationships that the company has with our referrers whilst identifying and acquiring new business development opportunities.

Operations Manager – Daniel Caruana

Daniel joined Overland Health in October 2016 as Operations Manager. Daniel has a background in banking where he spent 9 years and has a wealth of experience in managing and leading people across all levels.

As operations manager he is responsible for the day to day running of operations, ensuring our patients receive the best possible care and the up-skilling of our team leader population.

Assistant Operations Manager – Eric Maramieri

Eric joined Overland Health in 2014, and has managed to progress within the company in short order. Starting as a CSR he quickly moved to leading various teams and is now Assistant Operations Manager.

He now acts as a liaison between Management and the staff, whilst also helping to ensure the day to day operations of the company run smoothly, and plays a key role in recruitment.

Rehabilitation Lead – Rowena Tunks

A qualified Physiotherapist, Rowena joined Overland Health in 2015 as our in-house Rehabilitation Specialist overseeing and improving our clinical governance and high standard of service delivery using her wealth of experience in treating patients.

Rowena plays a key role in the governance of all clinical matters following the latest Rehabilitation Code changes, and assists in the training and development of staff delivering these processes internally.

She is also responsible for the clinical quality of Overland Health’s portfolio of services, providing essential feedback to the management team to ensure we are complying with all best practice directives. Rowena also plays supporting roles in the development of new rehabilitation programmes that enhance our commercial proposition.

IT Manager – Darrell Formosa

Darrell joined Overland Health in 2012 where he assisted the IT department in conjunction with his role in operations. He then joined the IT department permanently, where he learnt more about our platform systems and now locally manages all aspects of Overland Health’s IT infrastructure.

Darrell is the lead software developer on all new commissions and change projects.

Specialising in Programming and Development, Darrell assists the business in providing dynamic workflows and robust communication tools that continually improve business efficiencies.

Psychology Lead – Miriam Geraldi

Miriam holds a doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Surrey. She joined Overland Health in 2012. Through the years, she has been providing psychological therapy within various generic and specialised services in the National Health System and in the private sector. Miriam combines her knowledge of different psychological models in her work with clients and describes herself as an integrative psychologist. She has also been involved in training and lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for the past 5 years. Miriam has conducted research in different areas of psychology focusing predominantly on the process of identity consolidation in adolescence and on clinical supervision.

At Overland Health, she is responsible for the development of best practice guidelines, as well as for the implementation of audit and governance controls for mental health services. Miriam is also involved in the liaison between Overland Health and corporate clients especially for the delivery of mental health needs. She provides consultancy in the management of critical issues, including complaints involving corporate clients, individual clients and practicing therapists.
